Elendil, o filho de Amandil e primeiro Alto Rei
The High Kings of Arnor, através de Amandil, alegaram descendência dos Senhores de Andúnië, e portanto de Silmariën e dos Reis de Númenor. Elendil e Isildur foram Reis de Gondor tanto quanto de Arnor, mas depois do reinado de Isildur o reino foi dividido. Todos os oito reis seguintes usaram o título de Alto-Rei, presumivelmente para enfatizar seus direitos como o ramo mais velho dos descendentes de Elendil.
